Directors
Tony Bell
Tony is the Director of Customs Brokerage Operations. In this role, he has accountability for Customs Brokage, Customs Duty Refund Audits (Import File Audits), planning, development, customer liaison, and satisfaction across Curlett, Cannon & Galbell’s range of corporate customs services. Tony has over 35 years experience in the industry.
Tony became a Director of Curlett, Cannon and Galbell in 1986 after successfully running his own brokerage firm with partner George Gal. Tony played a key role in the development and road mapping of Curlett, Cannon & Galbell’s “Import Duty/Tariff Refund Audit and Tradex Drawback client assistance programs” that compliment CCG’s freight forwarding, and logistics – warehousing, pick and Pack, distribution initiatives. In this capacity, he continues to promote the culture of service that has always been an important element in the success of Curlett, Cannon and Galbell.
George Gal
Mr. Gal’s career spans over 35 years. He has extensive knowledge of domestic and international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, third party logistics, and contract logistics and warehousing. He joined Curlett, Cannon & Galbell in 1986 as a Director of Freight Forwarding and Finance.
George has worked with many domestic and international companies promoting more efficient logistics initiatives for small to medium enterprises. In particular by providing for “start-up companies – full warehousing, pick n pack, and distribution client services” and continues his enthusiastic participation. However, his one true passion is the welfare of the company and its people he founded with business partner Tony Bell.
Phillip John Hocking
Phil is an experienced international trade and logistics specialist; he joined Curlett, Cannon & Galbell in 2014 to expand our overseas (Import) & local (Export) supplier product quality, safety and compliance services.
Following a long career of over 20 years with a German based Trade & Logistics organization Phil has worked for the past 11 years as General Manager with a Swiss based consumer product testing laboratory group. With Phil, Curlett, Cannon & Galbell is now more equipped to assist organisations on all International Trade issues, including supplier selection, accreditation, quality and management systems, product safety and compliance, warehousing and distribution, together with customs clearance and tariff advice.
In addition to his role at Curlett, Cannon & Galbell Phil is also the President of SwissCham; the Swiss – Australia Chamber of Commerce, whose members now employ over 80,000 people in Australia.
Key Personnel
Domenic Bonacci
Domenic is a licensed customs broker and a key foundation team member of Curlett, Cannon & Galbell Pty Ltd. He began his customs brokerage career in 1981. He joined the company in 1986, and has held several key positions and became the Customs Brokerage Manager in 1991.
Domenic is particularly strong in tariff classification, customs valuation, duty concessions and overall customs operations. He has vast experience in handling quaratine matters and dealing with various governmental organisations and departments. His specialist areas is challenging tariff classifications and obtaining many tariff concessions on behalf of our clients.
Domenic and his team of experienced licensed customs brokers and customs entry personnel take care of everything needed to secure the release of our client’s shipment from Australian Customs. They tell you exactly which documents are needed, show you how to find or create those documents, and making it easy to process them through Australian Customs.
Luke Madigan
Luke has been in the international freight industry since 1990, with many years of experience in the transportation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding industry, serving previously with the likes of Bulgin & Stockwell International and Bectrans International/ BTi Logistics before joining Curlett, Cannon in 1997 in our global freight forwarding business.
Luke was appointed our Freight Forwarding Manager in 2003. During his career, Luke has management customer accounts in road transportation, air cargo and ocean carrier and has managed contract logistics operations.
His roles in international freight, as well as general management, reflect his extensive experience in managing local and global customer relationships, overseeing his teams activities and providing a boutique customer service that strives to ensure that each of our freight forwarding clients receive rapid customs clearance, on time delivery at minimum cost.
His responsibilities also include developing a cohesive and efficient global network of partners is in place to support our client’s needs and business growth.
Elizabeth Beach
Elizabeth joined the company in 2005 and brings with her 24 years of warehousing and distribution experience.
Prior to joining Curlett, Cannon and Galbell team, Liz was the warehouse manager for a Playcorp, a wholesale toys distribution and clothing company. She has experience with all types of goods and volume flows from clothing, toys, photographic, stationery through to Hi Tec automotive and electrical end items.
At Curlett, Cannon and Galbell, Elizabeth is in charge of the receiving, warehousing, order fulfilment, pick and pack facilities, and coordinates the distribution and transportation on behalf of our clients.
As part of the team, Elizabeth strives to build long-term relationships with customers, servicing their needs as the market changes and adding new customers that compliment Curlett, Cannon & Galbell existing relationships.

David Smith
David is our driving force for sales and enjoys the interactive role that it provides. What better way to sell the services that he truly appreciates and believes in.
He has over 35 years of industry and global experience in all facets of import/export and international trade, in the UK, Europe, Australia and Asia. He has just rejoined Curlett, Cannon and Galbell, after working in China for 5 years, where he worked in the private sector and with the Government delivering trade and logistical solutions.
David has a particular interest in the specialised “Customs Duty Refund Audits” service, an area he sees that has considerable potential for Australian Businesses to recovery overpaid or incorrectly paid duties and taxes. He is also actively involved in the marketing of our Freight Forwarding, Warehousing, Pick N Pack & Distribution services were his vast experience and wise counsel has helped many a new client.
